Alina Knott

Oil on Canvas

About Alina

Alina Knott is a Ukrainian-born artist based in Germany, internationally known for her vivid, emotionally resonant oil paintings of Porsche automobiles. She works between two studios: one in Berlin, where the city's vibrant art scene inspires her, and one in Heiligendamm by the Baltic Sea, where the soft, shifting light brings quiet poetry. Her Jack Russell, Davy, follows her everywhere — part muse, part mischief, full-time CEO of naps and snacks. This mix of city energy and coastal calm shapes her artistic vision, blending motion and stillness in her work.

Cars

Alina Knott transforms Porsche automobiles into soulful presences. Her paintings capture more than design — they express motion, elegance, and power. Influenced by real racing experience, her brush conveys vibration and emotion. Each vehicle becomes a symbol of beauty and strength, alive with the pulse of speed and story.

Yes, absolutely. If you would like a one-of-a-kind oil painting based on your idea or photo, I would be happy to create a unique piece just for you.

We’ll discuss everything together — your vision, the mood, the colors, the format, and any details that matter to you. Whether it’s a portrait of a person, a pet, or something meaningful to you, I’ll make sure it feels deeply personal and true to your story.

I work with the finest materials: My paintings are created on Belgian linen — known for its strength, texture, and quality — and painted with professional-grade oil paints that are eco-friendly and full of depth and brilliance. Once I understand what you’re looking for, I’ll send you a personal offer with all the details: price, size, timeframe, and more.

What we’ll discuss together:

  • What should the painting show? (subject, emotion, colors, details)
  • What size and format works best? (portrait, landscape, custom)
  • Is there a special deadline or occasion?

Materials I use:

  • Belgian linen canvas (museum-quality)
  • Norma Professional (Germany) – eco oil paints with rich color
  • Old Holland (Netherlands) – historic, highly pigmented paints
  • Rembrandt Oils (Amsterdam) – smooth texture, long-lasting brilliance

I look forward to creating something special for you.

Thank you so much for your inquiry and your interest in my work — I truly appreciate it. This year, I am accepting a limited number of custom commissions — either based on a personal photo or your own idea. Due to my current projects, I would first need to check when I can start working on your piece. Please send me a clear reference photo and a short description of your vision.

Once I have those details, I can offer you a specific timeframe.

As a guideline:
An oil painting on canvas in the format 120 × 80 cm usually takes about eight weeks to complete. After that, it needs approximately another eight weeks to dry before it can be safely shipped.

Timeless and unique — a personal piece made just for you.

My work revolves around figurative oil painting — whether it’s the sleek lines of a car, the soul behind a gaze, or the quiet presence of an animal. Each painting is deeply personal and emotionally charged.

  • Cars: Porsche model, full of motion, elegance, and power
  • Figurative: portraits that reflect character, memory, and inner life
  • Animals: beloved companions, painted with tenderness and spirit

I paint not just what I see, but what I feel.

Let me know what you’re drawn to — and we’ll take it from there.

Yes, I work with selected galleries. Some of my original paintings are currently exhibited at the renowned Saatchi Gallery in London, where they can be viewed and purchased in person. Working with galleries is an important part of my artistic practice. It allows my work to be presented in an international context and ensures that collectors are professionally supported.

Yes, all of my original paintings are hand-signed and come with a certificate of authenticity.

The signature appears either on the front or the back of the canvas, depending on the artwork. The certificate confirms the authenticity of the piece and includes the title, year of creation, technique, and my signature. This way, you receive not only a unique painting but also an official document that verifies its origin and value.

I work mainly with oil on canvas — it allows me to express depth, emotion, and subtlety in every layer. Depending on the subject and atmosphere I want to create, I also use acrylics, glass paints, and other media. I prefer using high-quality, environmentally conscious paints from Germany and the Netherlands. Their rich colors and durability meet the highest artistic standards. One of my favorite surfaces is fine Belgian linen. Its texture, strength, and longevity make it ideal for museum-quality work.

Besides canvas, I also work with:

  • Glass and plexiglass for transparency and depth
  • Textiles and paper for added texture and contrast
  • Mixed media when the concept calls for it

I always choose my materials intuitively and purposefully — guided by what the artwork needs to truly come to life.

Yes, absolutely. I regularly ship internationally, and many of my collectors live outside of Germany.
If you would like to purchase a painting from abroad, I will personally guide you through all the details — simply and clearly.

After finishing a work, I allow the oil paint to dry fully before preparing it for shipment. This is especially important to ensure the surface remains undamaged. We will then discuss:

  • the best time for shipping
  • a reliable, insured shipping provider
  • professional and secure packaging
  • delivery times and international costs

I make sure your artwork arrives safely, wherever you are.

Besides within Germany, I have shipped to clients in countries including:

  • USA
  • United Arab Emirates (Dubai)
  • United Kingdom
  • Switzerland
  • Austria
  • France
  • Italy
  • Spain
  • Netherlands
  • Denmark
  • Sweden
  • Belgium
  • Poland
  • Canada
  • Australia

If your country isn’t listed here — no problem. I’ll find a secure shipping solution for you.

Yes, in principle — selected artworks can be licensed.

If you are interested in using one of my paintings for commercial or editorial purposes (such as a book, magazine, product packaging or advertisement), feel free to send me a licensing request.

Each inquiry is reviewed personally. Together, we clarify:

  • the intended use (e.g. print, online, edition size)
  • the duration and territory (e.g. one-time use, unlimited, regional or worldwide)
  • the type of use (commercial, non-commercial, editorial)

Based on this, I will prepare a custom licensing offer including usage rights and fees.

Please note:
If you are looking to purchase a private print (for your home), you can order high-quality fine art prints of selected works directly via my Saatchi Art page. For all other requests, I look forward to your contact.
